Baby Massage classes are starting again at Cheltenham Reflexology and Massage. We love our classes as we have teach baby massage with extra instruction of foot reflexology too. We’ve had a break from classes as we moved to our new premises one year ago and wanted to settle in fully before starting up again.
The most important thing about our classes is that they are relaxed and fun. If your baby cries, that’s ok. If you need to stop to feed your baby, that’s fine – just go ahead.
Massage has a huge number of benefits. For the carer, it can provide relaxation as oxytocin and endorphins are released into bloodstream. Classes also create a dedicated time to spend more time bonding with your baby, aided by skin-to-skin contact. Research has shown that Dad’s taking part in baby massage felt that the bond with their baby improved. Other research has demonstrated the unique effect on ladies with postnatal depression and how taking part in baby massage contributed to them feeling more positive.
For babies themselves, there are physical and psychological benefits. Improved co-ordination, increased speed of muscle and nervous system development, improved digestion, improved relaxation and so much more.
Our first course will run from Thursday 1st Feb. at 10.30am, for a 5 week period (always, same day and time). These classes are suitable for babies from 6 weeks to crawling.
Just £45 per 5 week course, with oil, a mat and towel and handouts all provided.

We have worked with some 2 and 3 year olds in the past year on a 1:1 basis, where we have seen incredible improvements to the digestive system. It’s wonderful showing carers how to help their babies at home with the use of massage and reflexology techniques. We will also be organising some specialist workshops where we can focus mainly on colic and digestive issues.
Baby Massage and Reflexology Classes will be held at Cheltenham Reflexology and Massage, 1 St Margaret’s Terrace, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, GL50 4DT.
