Are your feet in need of a pick me up?
After the Summer we’ve had – whether you were here or abroad – you may find your feet are looking a little dry and in need of some hydration. If you are a fan of flip flops – then you might find that your heels have also developed hard skin or calluses. These calluses can sometimes develop cracks and if left untreated can be extremely painful.
Here at Cheltenham Reflexology and Massage we offer a luxury spa treatment that will help your feet look and feel softer after one of our Callus Peel treatments. Just look at the before and after pictures we have of a client’s feet.
The cost of the treatment is £25, or if you are booked in for a Pedicure, you can be an additional £15 to have the callus peel treatment included.
With Winter around the corner – your feet tend to get neglected as they are not on show as much – but now is the time to ensure you give them that extra bit of care so that the skin on your feet is kept hydrated and softened.
Here’s our top 5 tips for softer feet through the winter –
Soak away your troubles. Give your feet a soak in some warm water with some Epsom salts. These salts help to soften the skin, reduce foot odour, help to heal any foot fungi or ingrown toenails and soothe dry skin.
Exfoliate your feet. After 5 – 10 minutes give your feet a gentle scrub with an exfoliating cream. Focus on areas where your skin is dry. This helps to remove any dead skin cells and improve the blood circulation .
Moisturise your feet when wet. Apply moisturiser to still-damp feet after every bath or shower. Products that have the ingredients petrolatum, glycerine, shea butter, vitamin E or jojoba are very effective at preventing moisture loss.
Polish your foot skin. Use a pumice stone or a metal file once a week to keep your feet feeling smooth. When you have tough skin on the feet – perhaps from walking around bare foot, wearing flip flops or through the rubbing of certain shoes – you may find the metal file will help to smooth your feet more.
Wrap them over night. If your feet are really dry, rub an oil or moisturiser into your feet and then put on some cosy socks and you’ll wake up with softer feet.
